Château Pontey, situated in the heart of the Haut-Médoc appellation within Bordeaux, traces its origins to the late 19th century when local vintners established it on gravelly soils ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate’s philosophy centers on sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar, allowing the unique terroir of Saint-Sauveur to express itself fully in each vintage. Beyond their flagship Haut-Médoc red blend, Château Pontey also crafts a limited-production white Bordeaux from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes grown on select plots, as well as a small batch of traditional méthode champenoise Crémant de Bordeaux that highlights their commitment to regional diversity and artisanal methods.
