Tasting Notes and Characteristics:

The first sip of Château Jourdan Bordeaux Rouge wraps your senses in a tapestry of ripe blackcurrant, subtle cedar, and a whisper of earthy spice that lingers long after the glass is set down. Crafted in the heart of France, this Bordeaux Rouge expresses its heritage with a balanced structure and supple tannins, making it an inviting companion for slow-roasted lamb or a wedge of aged hard cheese. With an alcohol by volume of 13.00%, it offers just enough warmth to elevate each bite without overpowering the palate. The blend’s classic Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes shine through with notes of plum and graphite, delivering both freshness and depth in every pour.

Producer Information: Château Jourdan

Château Jourdan, nestled in the heart of Bordeaux’s Entre-Deux-Mers region, traces its roots to a family estate established in the late nineteenth century, where generations have cultivated vineyards on gravelly and clay-limestone soils ideal for classic Bordeaux varietals. The estate is distinguished by its commitment to sustainable viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the terroir’s character to shine through each vintage. Beyond their signature red blends crafted from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château Jourdan also produces crisp white wines featuring Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon as well as a limited selection of rosé that highlights the freshness of local grapes. Their location near the Garonne River provides a unique microclimate that shapes both their wine style and their reputation among Bordeaux producers focused on expressive regional character.
